its the end of the semester and the year of 2018 is coming to a close. and with that wraps up my involvement in broadcast technology for the semester, and had an incredibly fun year and I got so much better when it comes to video production. I really had fun getting to do my news package of what not to do when filming. getting to be silly and have fun was really something that brought out another side to my video production. however I wasn't the biggest fan of my first news package for hec-tv, the factoid about the first amendment. I can't hate on it all that much because it got me back into the swing of things and to start was bounds ahead of my previous works. I feel like I should have been a bit more adventurous with my choices of project although I don't think what I did was terribly reserved either, this semester either. I am interested in taking broadcast tech 2 because I am currently taking broadcast tech 2. i'm sad i'm a senior and wont get to work with the crew again seeing as I am off to college next fall. 12/20/18
So for the revisions I have made I feel like I did a lot. I added lots of b-roll and drastically in some cases restructured the video and tightened up the footage. by getting more footage of showing what was being told I was able to give more credibility to what was being said and overall make it a better package. tomorrow in class I am going to be going into the studio for our class to help do an interview of our superintendent for ladle view. am pretty excited to see what else I get to do as the semester closes and I am one hundred times happier with my work than I was before hand. 11/27/18
in the tv studio I am relearning the ins and outs of the technology and how to run the morning announcements from in there one again. for my first day I wore a few hats of tech director, director, and Aja runner. it was a bit stressful going right into the deep end but It was necessary to get me reacquainted with the equipment. I am in the home stretch I believe of the second edit of the news package of the renovations to my high school and that should be posted by the end of the month. recently some fifth graders called down to our class to ask questions about how to make a news package. it was gratifying getting to impart my knowledge onto the next generation of students. 11/11/18
This project was much more difficult for me and will be eventually re-uploaded. this is a news package I put together about renovations being made to my school. one thing I enjoyed was getting to interview these students and show their views of the work done. I did run into challenges if I didn't always feel like filming or was scared to film because I didn't want to disturb things or make myself stand out too much seemingly filming random stuff on my phone. I don't feel like it was my best work but I am still working on getting better footage to improve what I currently have. 10/29/18
For my second project I plan to do a demonstration of what not to do when filming. I used the main recording studio to do a news package style video of me telling the stories of different things you shouldn't be doing when filming. Things like bad lighting, random jumpcuts, loud or quiet audio and vertical filming all are problems I detailed in the video, I also filmed myself playing guitar for a copyrighted song "Desolation" by Lamb Of God. It was super fun to film and to make as silly as possible. I could have gone nuts had I chosen to use final cut however for the three days that I got everything done in using iMovie this time around to edit was more than enough. 10/12/18
It took me a little while to get around to the adope spark post that you see on my front page. I didn't have the greatest inspiration to do it and couldn't find a time I wanted to do it. I looked at my clothes and saw the sort of grey scale theme to my attire. and remembered we have a white wall, such a contrast I felt would be nice. and so I stood as much against it as I could and tried to be sort of a shadow. it says "stand in no shadow" because I feel like embracing individuality and think you should revel in your identity not hide in the shadows of the existence of others. 10/2/18
For my first project I was asked to do a little factoid video based off of the first amendment. I started just by getting some film of the B5 journalism class doing work on the school news paper. Once I got that footage I went into the new green screen room to take film of myself using the prompter to read a script of some facts about the first amendment. using that green screen film in combination with the footage of the journalism students and footage from protests at my school which my teacher had on hand, and created a short minute or so little "factoid" video package about the freedom of speech.

So for my next project I am thinking of possibly interviewing students about their feelings towards the new renovations of our school. I'll probably interview a few friends of mine and maybe even my father seeing as he was a former student here. If possible I may interject my own opinion to conclude but if not I'll still try and get either interviews of some teachers and students who either are new like freshman or new teachers, as well get some veterans like us seniors or some of the older teachers. Throughout my day I'll try and get good shots of the school. 9/19/18
I figured I'd take a minute and tell you all to look me up if you're a metalhead. I have a lot of sweet bands for you o check out (some 200+) and also some nice playlists if you go to Spotify and look up gojimyepikiller that should be me. it won't be a waste of time trust me. 9/17/18
I return, I hope that this, my senior semester, is going to be much better than my first time around. I look forward to the opportunities and pushing myself a bit more Than i had in the past. I just feel like my freshman attempt in this class wasn't my best work. interest wise I'm up to anything whether it be political or news based or camera work or maybe even doing some music videos or PSAs. 8/27/18
I have been absent for quite some time. As you may or may not have seen I've posted 2 new videos my newscast project from about 2 or 3 weeks ago and my final project. Both of these were challenging but I managed to do good with them...the newscast at least I've yet to hear about my final project. All in all first semester has had it's challenges, but here I am at the end of the year with 3 days till winter break and I've done way better than I thought I would have. considering I was pretty worried coming into high school any class I was mediocre in last year I am showing stellar results.
As I begin my interview package yesterday I managed to capture some pre-emotive B-roll to start my videographical surplus. I wasn't able to get any interviews due to a shortage of coaches not to mention the one head coach being sick, so I did not want to risk infecting me or taking away from his students in the pool. Today I should be able to get interviews from coaches divers and some swimming and diving footage is my hope that everyone is there and the coaches are well. 9/24
Editing for me I found easy since I've used iMovie before and have edited several hours of footage down to a half hour or twenty minutes to five minutes. Basically I just learned how to over lap fine trim and fine tune footage and audio.9/23
During the interview portion of the course I found a bit of challenge in some of the recording techniques and job of being the interviewee, but altogether I found that I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Some of the keys for a good interview are to treat it like a conversation, ask open ended questions and have who you're interviewing look at you not the camera.9/23
for the sound section of the mobile journalism course I learn about the difference between noise and nat sound, how to use nat sound effectively as well as how to get in real close to get good nat sound.9/23
for shooting tips I learned about the crippling condition of vvs, how to use the rule of thirds and walldo as well as extensively practicing them.9/23
in the visual storytelling section I learned the effect of shooting from certain camera angles, and the action versus reaction technique. 9/21
In the research section of the mobile journalism iTunes U course,I learn basically what it means to be a citizen journalist and how to use the iPad effectively as a tool for recording video. 9/21
